TRANSFORMATION PARTNER CHOSEN BY ESSEX COUNTY COUNCILEssex County Council has today (23rd June) identified IBM as the preferred partner. The final decision to sign a contract with IBM rests with the Council, who will debate the topic at Full Council on 13th October 2009, subject to the successful completion of commerical discussions. Mick Mahoney, UNISON Branch Secretary and Babs Whitfield, Assistant Branch Secretary, delivered to Lord Hanningfields PA, well over 2000 postcards and a petition with over 1000 signatures from concerned employees and residents of Essex before the cabinet meeting today where the decision was made.
